These are the Adult Bible Classes being offered for the Spring 2012 Term. If you are interested in taking one of the following courses, please tell us you are coming by signing up online.
7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday from January 25 to March 7 and April 18 to May 23 in KC's Explorer A&B Classroom.
‘The Truth Project’ is all about understanding and living out a Christian worldview by maintaining godly relationships with God and man, the family and the church, as well as being a vibrant witness to the gospel of salvation. As light influences darkness in Christ we become able to have a positive spiritual influence in our culture to the point of making an extraordinary difference for the good in our world to the glory of God!
‘The Truth Project’ will motivate you to move more and more in this direction 24/7. It is a DVD-curriculum taught by Dr. Del Tackett. The last segment of each class will consist of an informal round table discussion pertaining to Dr. Tackett’s presentation.
6:30-8:30 PM Wednesdays from February 8 to April 4 in the Sanctuary.
James, Jesus' own brother, started out as a skeptic. See how one glimpse of the resurrected Savior turned an unbeliever into a disciple. Bible scholars compare James to the Old Testament prophet Amos. In other ways, James more closely resembles the Book of Proverbs than any other New Testament book. Topics in this study include: joy, hardship, faith, reversal of fortunes for rich and poor, wisdom, gifts from above, single-mindedness, the dangers of the tongue, humility, and prayer. This Beth Moore study also provides a personal at home study experience five days a week.
Email Jane Sandwick to sign up and order your materials for this study and/or availability of limited baby sitting.
7:00-8:30 PM Wednesdays from January 25 to March 7 and April 18 to May 30 in KC's 101 B.
Are you a true follower of Jesus Christ, but a Christian who is still unfamiliar with finding your way around in the New Testament? This course is designed to familiarize you with the contents of the New Testament so you can find what you’re looking for whether in the four gospels, or in the inspired writings of Paul, Peter, James, John or Jude. It is good to be familiar with the whole New Testament, because it is intended by God to inform you, inspire you, and increase your faith resulting in giving you meaning and hope for this world and the next.
This course will be especially helpful in giving you a biblical background if you lead a small group. You will also find it easier to share the Gospel with anyone who asks you about becoming a Christian, because you will be able to turn to now familiar passages of Scripture to answer their questions.
7:00-9:00 PM Tuesdays from January 10 to March 20 in the Upper Room.
This discussion group will be encouraged to stimulate study and discourse on Spiritual Gifts and Warfare citing their application in today’s world. A great deal of emphasis will be place on group participation. Please attend with the expectation of learning from and sharing with the other students. We plan to use Bible Based sources such as Chip Ingram’s ‘The Invisible War’.
