Are you interested in becoming a covenant member of Grace Fellowship? We place a high value on church membership and consider it a significant step in a believer's life. Membership offers you the potential to become all that God intended in both commitment and service to Him.
We invite you to explore this section on church membership and hope you will feel encouraged to begin the process.
The Membership Process
Step 1—Exploring Grace Fellowship
The first step is to participate in the Discovering Grace Fellowship (201) class, a four-part class that meets on Sunday mornings. You will learn about the mission, ministries, and unique qualities of Grace Fellowship Church. You will also have the opportunity to meet with and hear from some of the elders, staff, and key ministry leaders.
Step 2—Submitting the Application
The next step is to complete and submit your membership application wherein you declare your intent in writing and confirm your commitment to the seven membership covenant expectations.
Step 3—The Membership Interview
Upon receipt of your application by the church office, a member of the Grace Membership Interview Team will contact you to schedule an interview. During the interview, you will have the opportunity to discuss key membership issues and any concerns or unusual circumstances. You will sign your Membership Covenant and then be added to the official church membership roster.
Step 4—The Celebration
In the final step of the membership process, you will be publically recognized during worship service. The list of new church members will be read and the congregation will acknowledge your commitment and welcome you.
Membership Covenant
- I will love, honor, and obey Jesus Christ above all else in my life.
- I will learn and practice the disciplines of private and corporate prayer.
- I will become a daily student of the scriptures.
- Whenever I am in the Capital District, I will regularly participate in public worship.
- I recognize that significant relationships with other believers are crucial for my spiritual growth. Therefore, I will commit to join with other believers on a consistant basis through small group and/or ministry team involvement for the purposes of Christian fellowship, discipleship, personal accountability, and pastoral care.
- I will tithe at least 10% of my income to support the Lord's work.
- I will discover the talents and spiritual gifts God has given me and serve in at least one ministry through the auspices of Grace Fellowship that is consistent with my gifts.
