Wedding Planning Steps

The steps below will assist you in preparing for one of the most important days of your life. The steps are to be followed by couples that wish to be married at Grace Fellowship by a Grace Fellowship Wedding Minister. If you are using the Grace Fellowship facility and providing your own officiant, please email our Wedding Coordinator or our Facilities Manager to prepare for your ceremony.

Step 1: The Information Sheets and Initial Interview

Please email Wanda Evanchick or call 785.4959 ext. 316 to obtain our information sheets, one for the bride and one for the groom. Complete and return the information sheets to Wanda and she will schedule your initial interview. This interview is a precursor to participating in pre-marital counseling.

Step 2: The Facility Request Form

If your desire is to be married at Grace Fellowship, please complete the Facility Request Form for Weddings as soon as possible to hold the date for your wedding. You can pick up a this form online, at the Information Center in the Lobby, or request one by emailing the Facilities Manager.

Return the completed form to the facility manager by dropping it off at the Information Center in the "Completed Forms" folder. You may also mail it to Gerry Pettograsso or drop it off in his mailbox located in the office reception area.

You should receive a response within a few days. If you do not receive a response, please contact the facility manager by email.

Step 3: Arranging Pre-Marital Counseling

Once the initial interview is complete, Wanda will give your information to the Pre-Marital Counseling Coordinator who will work with you to schedule your pre-marital counseling sessions with one of the couples on the counseling team.

Step 4: The Myers Briggs Assessment

At the initial interview, you will be given a packet that contains the Myers Briggs Assessment and instructions on how to complete it. This assessment will be an integral part of the second counseling session. The Myers Briggs Assessment is a personality indicator and is only as accurate as you are honest. There is a $12 fee per couple for the Myers Briggs Assessement analysis.

Step 5: Select a Wedding Minister

Contact one of our Wedding Ministers and arrange for him to officiate at your wedding ceremony.

Step 6: Confirm Your Wedding Date

Contact the Facilities Manager to confirm the date of your wedding. Also confirm that the rest of the information on your wedding facilities request form is correct, i.e the appropriate rooms are booked and your decorating choices have been approved.

Step 7: Arrange for Support Services

Contact Nancy Catchpole as soon as possible to coordinate any of the following services that you would like to have as part of your wedding:

  • Sound enhancement
  • Music
  • Musicians
  • Lighting options
  • PowerPoint display of song words
  • Communion

Step 8: Complete the Pre-Marital Counseling Course

At your last counseling session, you will receive a copy of our Rehearsal Information Sheets and a copy of possible wedding vow choices.

Step 9: Complete the Rehearsal Information Sheets

Complete the Rehearsal Information sheets and return them, along with your choice of vows, to Wanda Evanchick no later than two weeks before the wedding.

Step 10: Finalize Rehearsal and Ceremony Plans

Contact your Wedding Minister and make an appointment to discuss the rehearsal and ceremony plans for your wedding. This appointment should be scheduled for 1–2 weeks prior to the wedding.

Step 11: The Marriage License

Bring your marriage license to your rehearsal and ask the wedding minister to sign it at that time.

Step 12: The Wedding

Enjoy this precious ceremony that unites you as husband and wife before God.
